I agree totally with Your arguments. Most of users are accustomed to and
understand 3 letter abbreviations. This is completely readable and not against
rules as expertises above say. If this was so big mistake this would be changed
long ago. The attached screenshots show exactly how bad it looks and how hard to
read are these roman capitals. Not mentioning problems with all scripts,
applications etc... 

This should be reverted to previous state.
