Is libresolv part of glibc?

Hello,

I'm trying to find more information about resolver(3) on Linux. It
mentions (Debian man pages):

    Resolver library (libresolv, -lresolv)
    ...
Note: This page is incomplete (various resolver functions
provided by glibc are not described) and likely out of date.

The library appears to be part of glibc, although I cannot find any
documentation of it in the glibc manual. I do find an entry for it in
the gnulib manual:
but this is under "glibc substitutes", so presumably it is also part
of glibc. Also, I've checked with ldd and my -lresolv program does not
link to anything but glibc.

Could you please clarify if libresolv is part of glibc, and if so,
where can I read more about it?

Regards,
Nikolaos Chatzikonstantinou
