The BIND code base no longer contains the stub resolver, it was removed
in 2008.  Development was quite dormant even before that.  Here are the
commits per year, including copyright updates in comments:

     23 2001
      8 2002
      2 2003
     11 2004
      9 2005
      5 2006
      5 2007
      5 2008

In any case, the glibc sources have diverged significantly.
