RPC and snapshot

So, the IPv6 support in RPC is gone.  Nobody volunteered to look into
this so this was the only choice.

With this I see no more problems with a release tomorrow.  I haven't
heard any objections from anybody so I assume it's OK.  It'll be
afternoon PST before I can finish it so you have a bit more time.
