glibc-2.0.99 & linux 2.1.125/2.1.126

I can now confirm that glibc-2.0.99 builds without any problems on 2.1.125
- so there must have been some change in 2.1.126 that caused the compile
to segfault with that version. 

I'm about to install glibc-2.0.99 and reboot back to 2.1.126.
