glibc 2.0 changes

Hi,

I've checked in several fixes for 2.0 including HJ's isntallation fix.
With this in place I hope to make 2.0.7 soon.  Please test it so that
I can make tomorrow a 2.0.7pre5 release and if this proofs ok an final
2.0.7.
