You should again be able to compile and test the cvs version
successfully.

I'm actually glad to have introduced this bug since it exposed a far
more critical problem which is also fixed.

I've also looked again for superflous PLT entries.  They are now
eliminated, for ix86.  Maybe you could look for them on other systems
as well.  It's not very likely that there are some hidden in platform
dependent code but who knows.
