I am not sure if you were still at Red Hat, but we split out
Sourceware as a separate entity a couple of years ago. Like Frank said
that means that funding goes through Sourceware/SFC directly. And I
think we have been somewhat successful with that.

Alex points out that makes us a seperate organization from the hosted
projects. And with that there is a risk of one organization
controlling the computing done of another group. I do see how this
could result in SaaSS. But I am arguing that a) these people would
never allow that given they are themselves part of the hosted
projects, and b) our charter also doesn't allow it
