We are currently contacting Rivos to clarify the copyright and assignment situation.

As Palmer previously noted, the relevant code in veclibm was written at Rivos and could
potentially be assigned to the FSF [1].

But I am not in a position to assign the copyright myself, even with that email as context.
A direct confirmation like a formal assignment from Rivos would probably still be required.
