How does that matter?  Are you trying to imply that it's not important 
enough?  I agree, which is why if someone is bothered by it, it makes 
sense to just drop it since it doesn't do anything very useful in the 
context of the GNU project anyway given that multiple fellow developers 
have objected to it for various reasons and to various degrees.
