Final analysis posted for SAP ftruncate bug.

The writeup is basically a defense of the work Siddhesh
did to fix append mode cases. I believe Siddhesh's work
was top notch and think it's the closest we've ever 
been to being POSIX conforming.

I'm going to go get some sleep since I did a double
shift last night to get that analysis and writeup
fully done. The night shift is nice and quiet at home :-)
