HJ, could you send the current patch you are proposing, along with 
instructions for port maintainers on what if anything needs changing (a) 
for non-biarch architectures, (b) for biarch/triarch architectures where 
there are no soname differences and (c) for biarch/triarch architectures 
where there are soname differences.
