I briefly looked for recentish compilers that lack anonymous unions
and found one, mikroC.

I then stopped looking.  I don't know if anybody uses mikroC
with glibc.  It does seem a bit odd to put a C11 feature in a
public header.

I suppose you can count this email as a mild
objection with a so-so rationale....
