[PATCH] 2.15: BZ#411: Alternate fix for __i686 issue.

I see this patch modifies the list of fixed bugs for 2.15 in NEWS.  
Rather than modifying that list, I think 2.15 branch should have a 
separate section in NEWS for 2.15.1 release, and the list of fixed bugs in 
2.15 release should only contain those fixed for 2.15, not those fixed 
subsequently on the branch.  (The NEWS section for 2.15.1 will probably 
contain *only* the list of fixed bugs, since bug fixes (and translation 
updates?) are the only changes appropriate on release branches.)
