libc-hack policy

  Hi!

What is the rationale behind libc-hack policy not allowing
subscriptions? I can understand restriction of posting rights to libc
hackers, but restricting subscription is hard to understand for an
openly developed GNU project, especially since archives _are_ in fact
accessible over the web.

Perhaps this is a relict of times where subscription and posting
rights were inseparable? Could that be fixed, please?

  Thanks,
