glibc-2.8 tarballs?

 That at least deserves a note put at ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glibc/ that no
further releases of glibc are meant to be placed there so that people who
do not actively track development are aware of the new policy, which is an
exception rather than the rule among GNU software.
