Compile only Iconv module

Hi,
 
I have recently decided to compile by myself the glibc
library. I would like by the same add a new module for
iconv. Neverteless, with my method, every change I
make in my module implies to re-compile the glibc. It
seems to me quite strange and I am sure there is a way
to recompile only the iconv module without recompiling
everything.
I had looked into the doc and the FAQ but I did not
find anything on this topic.
 
If you could help me on this topic, I would work
faster and avoid me to recompile everything on all the
port I want to do.
