In ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/glibc/snapshots/ you can now find some
tarballs of cvs checkouts.  These will be made weekly.  This is not a
substitute for using cvs properly yourself to keep track of the most
current sources if you are trying to work on or build glibc.  It is an aid.
You can download a snapshot and untar it to cut down a lot of the bandwidth
of the first cvs server connection for a checkout.  Once you unpack it, you
can immediately do "cvs update" in that directory to use anonymous cvs.
