Is there any reason why the Copyright years cannot line-wrap?
Say:
/* Copyright (C) 1939, 1951, 1976, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000,
   2001, 2002 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
   This file is part of the GNU C Library.

That would be IMHO nicer than removing the spaces or two digit years.
