Error during Make of glibc2.2 on Sun Raq XTR

I have a Sun Raq XTR with 6.5.1 version of the OS, and am trying to upgrade 
the glibc2.0 to glibc2.2 so I can run MySQL-ODBC on the beast.
Can someone assist me with getting things going?
I did the configure as follows:
./configure --prefix=/usr --exec-prefix=/usr --enable-add-ons=linuxthreads

The configure goes through OK.
The make process returns the following error, after some time through the 
compilation process:
