build success on sparc

FYI, I built the latest CVS checkout using up-to-date gcc 2.95.3 branch
and binutils 2.11.90.0.1. All tests completed as expected. atexit
problems went away. Build is still going on arm-linux, mips-linux and
powerpc-linux using the same toolchain.
