Just for the record: I'm currently testing on i686 and will report any
problems - and I test regularly on other platforms.

Shouldn't we add patch for configure to check for GCC 3.0 and remove
it as soon as the patches go in?

The second patch still isn't in gcc-2_95-branch

The last entry in gcc/ChangeLog is

* regmove.c (optimize_reg_copy_3): Do nothing if previous
insn carries a REG_EQUIV note.  If it carries REG_EQUAL,
delete the note.

Also, It'd help if you could upload all required patches to
sources.redhat.com and ftp.gnu.org when 2.2.4 is released.
Various 2.95.3 users won't use CVS or read the mailing-lists.
