Ok.  I have an ev56.

Don't worry about my system.  I also used a mainline gcc (CVS from yesterday 
to be precise).  Maybe I'll try without the -mcpu=ev56 compiler option.  Could 
you please tell me what compiler flags you used in your tests ?
