glibc-2.2 : /iconv/skeleton.c - Assertion failed

Hello

After upgrading to glibc 2.2, I get a failed assertion when running programs 
like `df', `joe' `rpm' etc.

I compiled the library with gcc-2.95.2. (kernel 2.2.16) It compiled 
succesfully, it's only after installation that errors like the following 
occurs:

joe: ../iconv/skeleton.c:297: gconv: Assertion outbufstart == ((void *)0)' 
failed.

Any ideas?
