Wierd compilation error (gcc problem?)

I'm getting the following error while compiling glibc (cvs).

malloc.c: In function `main_trim':
malloc.c:3881: Internal compiler error, output_operand_lossage `invalid expression as operand'

Happened on 3 different machines, so I guess it's not hardware problem.
gcc 2.95.2
actual glibc 2.1.3

Anyone have a clue about what is happening ?
