Did that, had some other (different) problem.. rebuilt using egcs 1.1
instead of 1.1.1, and worked fine (without -fomit-frame-pointer, that is).
I guess I'll email the egcs guys and see if they want to comment..

Either glibc (not), egcs, or the cpu fan broke (checked). Thanks.
