libg++ 2.8.1.1 - sigsegv in re_compile_fastmap(..)

You should really use libg++ 2.7.2 - there're quite a number of
differences between 2.8.1 and 2.7.2. Instead of recompiling you can
try to use a binary version from RedHat or Debian.
