Your program runs without failure on my glibc 2.0.97 system. Please
upgrade (source is available from alpha.gnu.org/gnu) and if the
problem persists, report it again with some strace output.
Btw. your program uses getpgrp - but you speak about setpgrp. Is this
really correct?
