The solution :

 if we want to perform the ABI comparison for a specific architecture say,
x86_64, , just append .x86_64

fedabipkgdiff -a ImageMagick-7.1.1.39-1.fc41.x86_64
ImageMagick-7.1.1.40-1.fc41.x86_64
