            Bug ID: 31990
           Summary: abidb: support distrobranch-vs-distrobranch solib
                    comparison mode
           Product: libabigail
           Version: unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: default
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: fche at redhat dot com
CC: libabigail at sourceware dot org
  Target Milestone: ---

Right now --check takes a single binary as the comparand (usually an
executable, not sure solibs work in that position), and a target distrobranch.
It would also be useful to compare a SONAME in any two distrobranches for
compatibility for all versions in former against all versions of the latter.
In that case, abidb would be pulling out abixml data already in the abidb.git
repo, just for two different branches. Or the same branch, functioning as a
self-test and also a cross-version SONAME compatibility within the same
distrobranch.
