Make problems on OpenBSD

Kawa used to build, albeit with most things switched off at configure, 
on OpenBSD 3.5. I had been too busy to really work with it for a while, 
but I haven't been able to get a compile to work since that version. I 
am hoping someone might suggest something to help me track down this 
problem at compile:

This is after a plain ./configure with the following system information.
