More on Kawa snapshots (and build and CVS issues)

I did subsequently try CVSGrab with Kawa's CVSWeb and it doesn't work.
But I wondered whether the problem was the use of the ?cvsroot HTTP
parameter rather than the version.  I downloaded the code and will see
if there is an easy fix later.
