You may be interested to know that I just checked in a very preliminary
"telnet-mode" for jemacs. It does handle multiple colors (though
there seems to be some Swing problem I don't quite understand) and
some local editing - i.e. you can run bash with readline at the other end.
It uses my builtin telnet classes.
