The 's' in fermi_dirac.c is actually intialized within fd_whiz() when called
for the first time in the loop. A simle solution would be to initialize

double s=0.0 ;

where complained. The line

  if(iterm == 0) *s = 0.0;

within fd_whiz() could then be dropped.
