This is a *very bad idea*. It leaves you open to typo trojans: say you're
in the /tmp directory on a multi-user box. You accidently type "sl"
instead of "ls". You now run /tmp/sl, which could have been installed by
anybody. You lose. "." should *never* appear on your $PATH.
