make check error on Mac OS X

I was trying to install gsl-1.4 on a G4 running 10.2.6 using the gcc 3.3 
and got the following error while running 'make check'

It compiled without error and the CFLAGS were:
"-O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-schedule-insns -fstrict-aliasing -Wno-long-dou
ble"

Any ideas.

I have the complete output of 'make check' available.  The only FAIL: is 
this last line.
