Problems compiling GSL on a Mac OS X

I'm in the process of trying to get the GSL libraries to compile & run on 
an PowerMac G4 running Mac OS X 10.2.6

During compilation, I get this error message & I was hoping someone could 
tell me what to do to fix this warning message.

The compilation process works fine but when I run 'make check' I get errors 
int the 'Making check in vector'

I'm running the following:  gcc (GCC) 3.1 20020420 (prerelease)

uname -a:
    Darwin newyork.local. 6.6 Darwin Kernel Version 6.6: Thu May  1 
21:48:54 PDT 2003;
    root:xnu/xnu-344.34.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC  Power Macintosh powerpc


Any help or insight would be appreciated.
