Maybe we could invent some abbreviations having constant length.
Exempli gratia:
pon.
wtr.
śrd.
czw.
ptk.
sob.
ndz.

wtr., śrd. and ptk. aren't the most widely used abbreviations of these days, 
but can be occasionally found.
