[Bug regex/502] New: we can add some branch predictions to regex

The patch at

adds several branch predictions for case-sensitive matching and no transition
table being used.  In March 2004, predicting that the regex can be matched as
single byte (which includes many UTF-8 regexes even from Asian langugaes), was
rejected.
