wrt reversible debugging:
http://sourceware.org/gdb/news/reversible.html
http://sourceware.org/gdb/wiki/ProcessRecord
There was also never upstreamed project unrelated to the current GDB reverse
debugging codebase:
http://ols.fedoraproject.org/GCC/Reprints-2007/jacobowitz-reprint.pdf
It could make reversible debugging speed more acceptable but it is major
reimplementation of the GDB reverse debugging implementation.
For MI there is a list of issues to triage + fix:
http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?list_id=10208&query_format=advanced&bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=SUSPENDED&bug_status=WAITING&bug_status=REOPENED&component=mi&product=gdb
Unfortunately many parts are not feasible to fix due to compatibility with
existing front ends.

Jan
