get output of target exe thru cross-gdb

The test should probably be disabled when using gdbserver.  I haven't
figured out what a good condition would be - is_remote target &&
(istarget *-*-linux* || istarget *-*-mingw32*) maybe, with other
targets added as gdbserver support is added for new targets?
