gdb server initialization error

I am getting the following error using gdbserver (from
gdb 6.4) to debug a multi-threaded application.

gdb: error initializing thread_db library : version
mismatch between libthread_db and libpthread.

I am using Fedora Core 3 and not sure how to fix this
problem.
