MI "-file-list-exec-section" implementation

I'd like to implement the MI "-file-list-exec-section" command. It is 
necessary for a gdb-frontend I am working on.
1) I see some problems caused by CLI not being separated from gdb's core.
E.g. "target_ops->to_files_info" is declared "to_files_info(struct 
target_ops*)". All implementations of this interface that I've seen contain 
CLI-code only.
When/How can these issues be resolved?
2) info gdb gives no hint about the output format of 
"-file-list-exec-sections". What's the plan?
