-fpack-struct problems with gdb 5.3 (off topic)

Please don't send the legal mumbo jumbo below to a public mailing list, 
apart from it being rude and inapplicable in this mailing list, it also 
messes up my SPAM filter because and will be marked as SPAM and deleted 
before I see it.
