get tty_type failed:it is not a typewriter

when i install the most recent cygwin,and then make the gdb5.2.1 for 
mcore,when i use the command"target picobug com1",it errors:get tty_type 
failed:it is not a typewriter",then gdb dumped....
why?
Is the higher version not compatible with the former version of the 
cygwin1.dll???
