The branch for the next major release of GDB is scheduled to be cut
on:

     2002-03-03-gmt (Sunday March  3)

The branch will then be given a month to stablize before it is
released.

Now is a good time to update the files

     NEWS:     new features and changes
     PROBLEMS: things that are broken or do not build

your local GDB admin.
