A while ago the procedure I used for getting a CVS gdb began to give me lots
of directories that aren't needed for GDB. Configuring everything from the
top level takes a loooong time compared to what I remember.
If I just want to checkout/update and build the top-of-tree GDB, what
procedure should I use?
The other stuff will be configured if found, so... just checkout gdb.
If you check the CVSROOT/modules file, you'll see that 'gdb' is the name
of a module that just checks out the gdb stuff, none of the extraneous
stuff.
Other options include binutils, cgen, sim, sid... check the modules
file for a complete list.
