GDB configuration requirement

That would be ... correct!

Relatively few of the project volunteers step up to the GNU plate; based
on what I've seen from mailing lists the main GNU submitters of NetBSD
stuff are Todd Vierling, JTC, and Richard Earnshaw (in his area, anyway).
Todd V. has been pretty quiet lately so much less GNU progress has been
happening in NetBSD land.

There's been some soul-searching on the NetBSD lists lately about this.

Probably has something to do with Jason Thorpe finally getting fed up
with the well-known ills of excessive local changes, and actually being
able to make a case to his day job for letting him spend some time on it.
