I think it is a good idea, but I would suggest to say a couple of
words _why_ this is the recommended alternative. Otherwise, the
following text:
> You can build GDB right in the source directory:

> cp gdb/gdb /usr/local/bin/gdb (or wherever you want)

Leaves the naive reader wondering why one way is recommended more than
the other.
