On aarch64-linux, at b27279c5ac9 I run into:
... 
(gdb) PASS: gdb.base/gcore-memory-usage.exp: 64 Mb: create the corefile
PASS: gdb.base/gcore-memory-usage.exp: 64 Mb: after: Managed to read the memory
usage
The gcore command used 2 Mb (2048 Kb)
FAIL: gdb.base/gcore-memory-usage.exp: 64 Mb: gdb did not use too much memory
...

In a loop running 10 times, it failed twice.
